I'm very excited to be part of a new outreach project with my EGA chapter - Gentle Pursuits of Richmond. We will be making two Elizabethan style coifs for the interpreters at Agecroft Hall. You can read all about it
on the blog I write for the group . We hope to post regular updates as we work on this project. Let us know what you think!
Here is my practice motif. I think I'll need to try another!
My other exciting news is that I will be taking the class
The Mermaid in her Grotto in February. I had originally been planning to take Tricia Wilson Nguyen's Goldwork Masterclass through her
Online University, but then I saw the mermaid!
Lovely motif!
ReplyDeleteThanks for pointing me to the Gentle Persuits blog - I'll be following it.
Personally, I've decided to take the Masterclass the first time around, then Mermaid when it is repeated (I've heard that it will be). I definitely want to do it as well. I don't like the pattern so much, but I'm in it for the techniques. :-)
Looks great!!!! Thanks for being so connected to this project and the blog.

ReplyDeleteI am taking the Mermaid class as well (assuming we can get to W'burg from the snowy mid-west). Look forward to seeing you there. . . I'm wondering whether we met at Plimoth. . .were you there at the first August stitching bee (was that 2007)?
I love your samples and the Richmond outreach project!
Martha
I'll see you next week Martha - let's be positive and forget about the snow since I have to drive there. Yes I was in Plimoth that August, it will be good to see you again. Little did I know than that I would have the chance to make a coif!
